Five apps I use every day to organise my life (2023 Edition)
There are some apps out there that help me organise my life, which work together, to bring a persistent calm to my day. I have used numerous productivity apps, and I am very much guilty of switching between different apps to make me ‘productive’. However, I have learnt the hard way, so I know buying the next shiny tool will not make a difference if I don’t have a sound, organised system in place. It’s all about the process, not the tools.
I have included a list of apps I use each day without fail and why I use them. I try to keep my use of apps to a minimum to avoid context switching as much as possible. Three app of the apps are included on Apple’s OSes (iOS/iPadOS/macOS), another was a one-off payment, and the first on my list in a yearly subscription. I aim to run a system that costs me as little as possible.
Spending a lot of money on subscriptions for apps will not make you more productive. You have to have a process that works for you. My current system is perfect for what I need. I have to juggle many areas in life, such as home maintenance, parenting, working in the education sector, and my writing content, both for work and blogging.
