Code.org partners with Kahoot! for fun computer science learning games

With over 70 million users, Kahoot! has been changing how students learn through their leading game-based learning platform for teachers. And now, we’re excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with Kahoot! to help promote computer science through fun learning games to users all over the world.

More than 50% of US K-12 schools are using the Kahoot! platform to teach students in new ways and create a fun learning environment. Any teacher can create and find kahoots — fun group-based learning games — for a variety of topics for their class. Code.org has collected a special collection of kahoots to help demystify computer science — including Kahoots our teachers used in their classrooms.

The computer science collection of kahoots can be used in elementary, middle, and high school — some are paired with different chapters and levels of our Computer Science Discoveries and Computer Science Principles courses.

Kahoots are useful not only inside the classroom. There are kahoots in the collection that can be used in school presentations to help recruit students to take CS next year or at PTA meetings to raise awareness about computer science. And, beyond the kahoots collection, Code.org plans to use the Kahoot! platform to engage thousands of teachers during our professional development workshops.

Computer science is a foundational part of education in the 21st-century, and combining it with games that engage and encourage learners makes it more accessible. We’re lucky to partner with a group that shares our passion to expand access to computer science education.
