How great is to work at a Coffee Shop (and also can damage your professional profile)
Being a freelancer, decide where to work and at what time, is almost the best job a professional designer or developer can desire in their professional career. Is like have your own power, your own business..
Each day, Agencies or IT consulting offices are letting their teams to work at home (or in a coffee shop … which I personally prefer) and this is great to stimulate productivity in your team. But, this can, also, damage your professional image in your job. This happens when you don’t have self-discipline to focus on your tasks rather than procrastinate on your Facebook profile (which must of the office forbid this pages).
So, be careful when they let you work outside the office. You can loose the trust they bring to you which, in must of the cases, it won’t come back again if you betray that trust.
My best advice is to put your headphones, focus for 25 minutes, distract yourself for 5 minutes and then start again… Your professional image will improve after that.
