DogVacay, Heal, Farmer’s Insurance, and 15 other companies join Codesmith for its July Hiring Event
This week Codesmith students took part in the defining moment of the program, hiring day. Over the course of the Codesmith program, students take their junior level skill sets and spend over 1000 hours immersed in learning and building, and this exhibit showcased the culmination of all their hard work and their grand achievement of becoming mid to senior level software engineers. The students showed their new skills by presenting real world production projects to an audience of hiring partners which was comprised of companies such as DogVacay, Heal, Farmer’s Insurance, and more.

“There was an extreme amount of energy that each hiring partner gave to us. They didn’t just want to talk at us but they really want to know more about our projects”
- Brendan, Codesmith student
After the presentations the students met with the hiring partners face to face for quick 10 minute interviews. This gave students the chance to meet with many of our stellar hiring partners, and showcase their skills and talents to as many potential employers as possible. It also gave our hiring partners the chance to get to know the engineer behind the outstanding projects they were just introduced to.
“We were so impressed with all the students whom we met with, definitely a higher caliber stock vis a vis the SF-based code school grads we’ve seen”
- Will Dinkel, Nova Labs

As the interviews came to a close, everyone convened for drinks to celebrate the students who have achieved so much in such an impressive amount of time.
“It was so exciting to see that the hiring partners were as eager and excited to meet us as we were to meet them”
- Jessica, Codesmith student

We at Codesmith are proud to release to these students into the world where we’re confident that they’ll continue to display Codesmith’s core values of excellence and empathy. We believe there’s a lot of power and responsibility to being a software engineer, but we’re happy to say these students will use their gifts to help make a better world for all.
“This was a definite milestone for all of us to see how far we’ve all come’”
- Bryan, Codesmith student
