Yes, totally agree. If you work with Rails, starting from version 5.2 the functionality for uploading files is implemented in the framework, so Carrierwave is not necessary.

However, if you work with other Ruby frameworks — Hanami, Sinatra, etc — you will still need a gem for uploading files, be it Carrierwave or any other.
