Space Ship Timeline Pt.3

Alright, continuing with the same project, let’s add an audio track to this jet timeline track.

Let’s start by creating a new audio track in the timeline by just right-clicking under the previous track or pressing the plus button and clicking the audio track option.

Now we can drag our audio track into the timeline.

once you have the track in the timeline, you can then edit it like an animation clip. I did this in this example by splitting the track by aligning the head where I wanted to split the track, hitting the “S” key to split it, and deleting the rest of the track that I didn’t need.

Just as you can with the animation clip above, you can fade in the sound by holding the “Control/Command” button, then clicking and dragging the end of the track.

Something that we can do is make the sound a bit more dynamic by adding a bit more of a 3D space to it. The first thing we can do is create an empty game object and name it what you would like. then dragging their game object into the namespace of the audio track. Once you do this, you will be prompted to create an audio source.

now we can go into the audio options we can bring up the audio’s 3D reverb zone mix.

Now we can place the game object at the rear of the jet and expand the reach of the audio by enlarging the sphere.

But when the jet takes off, the audio object will not move with the jet. To make this a thing, you can make it a child of the jet.

Now, when the jet moves, the sound does, too. Now, the sound is located at the rear of the jet, and the volume of the audio is determined by how close you are to the rear of the jet.
