How (and why) to volunteer at refugee camps in Greece

When I was there in the winter of 2014/15, one of the first things I saw in Athens was a hunger strike in front of Parliament. When I spent time in Crete, I was told that people’s hearts were broken because of the (economic) crisis. I can’t believe how much more suffering poured into that country after I left when it already seemed like it was bursting at the seams with it.
