Starting your first programming job can be a little intimidating. You will be working in a setting that you are not familiar with and a group of people who definitely have better programming experience than you. The problem could seem insurmountable if you are provided no guidance and get directly thrown into the codebase. But its all good; most of us started that way anyway.

The first step that a new developer should take before their first day on the job is spend a good amount of time researching the product or the service that the company provides.
