Close enough to lose

Hands found stitched together and undo my isolation,
A distant dream come true when we are close enough to lose,
Anxiety chased away by the glaze in my eyes,
Viewing the reflection of the stars hidden in yours,
Feeling the heartbeat inside my core,
Realizing my fear that you are close enough to lose.

I hold few things close out of fear I'll lose it someday. With the combination of a job that often finds myself outside of the country for over half the year. Only being at the place i call home for 7 days in the past year. It's hard to find things and people to hold close. I found out the hard way that people are hard to trust with the distance. The closer they are the more it hurts to lose.
