It can be a long winter but you do not have to be stuck in the house! Here are some local attractions and ideas to break up the winter lull!

Skiing/Tubing/Snowboarding: We have some amazing mountains and locations for the advanced and beginners! If you are going with friends or your family they offer every single option and opportunity. Here are some of the more popular locations in the Finger Lakes ->

Greek Peak Mountain Resort (Cortland, NY) which also offers an indoor water park!

Swain Resort (Swain, NY) with rooms as low as $49 per night.

Kissing Bridge Snow Sports (Glenwood, NY)

Snowshoe the trails: The trails are beautiful in the summer but in the winter they are breathe taking! Tanglewood Nature center has an option to rent shoes and experience the beauty of the Finger Lakes all year round.

Horseback riding: There are a few places that offer horseback riding during the winter. Although many will not allow rides during hunting season due to safety reasons. Here is one that we really enjoy! http://www.paintedbarstables.com/

2300: “At 2300°, hot glass gets interesting — and so do things at The Corning Museum of Glass. This series of free, themed events features live glassmaking demonstrations by guest artists, live music and great regional fare. You can explore upcoming and past 2300° events below. When: 6 to 8 pm. Third Thursday of each month (November-March). Special date for May 2300°.” (From CMOG Website) — For more information

Sip & Savor: “With reduced traffic during the colder months, don’t be surprised if the person pouring your samples is the owner and winemaker.” (Source) To plan your winter wine tour, check out the local wine trails: Keuka Lake Wine Trail, Seneca Lake Wine Trail, and Cayuga Lake Wine Trail.
