No, Young Doesn’t Equal Stupid
There is no secret that our culture idolizes the young and stupid. Excusing your idiotic activity with your age is encouraged and praised and being young is treated as the be-all and end-all of life.
It’s not.
Those who are older have a lot of experience that’s impossible for us to have right now. They know more. They’ve seen more life. Experience is a tool to be used for effectiveness.
Our culture needs to stop treating age like it’s a disease.
But…
In more conservative communities, we can have a tendency to despise youth. We react to the culture we live in by doing a pendulum swing to the other side and treat youth as a weakness to outgrow.
It’s not.
Stupidity is something to outgrow. Lack of experience is something to overcome.
But…
Youth is a tool to be used for effectiveness. There are things that teens and 20-somethings can do which become much harder once they hit their 70's.
Neither age, nor youth are weaknesses. They are tools. Use them when you have them.
