Probably fair to state that I sling these things. Thru this love affair of gear I’ve had, an opportunity arose to start selling gear and I took it. Can’t blame me right?
That aside, I’m here to tell you this go ‘round about the mini sized People Eater from EvilTone ( www.eviltone.com )
It’s a boost, with one knob and a whole lot of attitude. This one knob idea has really got me going recently. The People Eater mini is the same circuit as the traditional sized People Eater from EvilTone just smaller. With a ton of gain on tap to eat your audience in sonic mayhem it also adds what you could call girth to your signal. This monster is not a clean boost, and nobody will confuse it for transparent. It’s a good standalone to thicken up a clean signal and add a little bit of hair but in my experience the People Eater shines in front of other dirt pedals. Especially fuzz. In fact, I absolutely love it in front of fuzz. Because fuzzes are usually quite compressed by nature I put the People Eater in front of it with the knob alllllllllllllllllllll the way. That’s right, maxed out. It slams the front of that fuzz like nobody’s business. There is a volume jump obviously but if you’ve got a pretty squishy fuzz it shouldn’t be to big of a jump. Also if you’re one of those types to run compression at the end of your board it shouldn’t be a problem either.
This new mini version of the People Eater is available right now (8–23–17) and for a limited time (til ?) for $69) at the EvilTone website listed above. If you pick one up let him know Coe sent ya and maybe I can shoot you some stickers and a hand written note or something silly along those lines. Thanks for reading.
