Coffeechug #Minimalism Challenge Day 6
Today was a busy day without much time left to declutter and work through my junk in my house. Thank goodness I had items to mail off from selling my stuff on eBay. I shipped out ____ packages so my number for today is just that!
Item 1: Lot of 8 types of printer paper, cd labels, picture paper, etc. Sold for $10.00
When I was cleaning out my drawer in my office I decided to sell all my printer paper. This paper I am selling has been around for years. I have not used them in so long I am not even sure why these have not been tossed prior. Someone was willing to buy partially used packets of paper so off it went. It was a lot of paper for ten bucks, but I will take what I can get.
Item 2 and 3: Kindle 2 and Sony eReader for $71.00
I did not like the buttons on the Kindle 2. I never used it as I always use my iPad, computer, or phone. I sold this Kindle as I would like to eventually get a new Kindle to help with my ebooks. Ebooks are something where I always think I am going to read them and never do. I just like the physical presence of my reading material. The Sony eReader is no longer useful because they shut their store down. I never used it either. I used it for a bit of time when working with Sony to promote this device, but that whole venture shut down rather quickly.
Item 4: Marpac Dohm-DS Sleepmate Dual Speed Sound Conditioner sold for $33.00
I never used this and was still in the box unopened. This came in a Quarterly package that I subscribe to. With our own window air conditioner in our bedroom there is no need to have this device. I know I would never bring it with me to travel so it is just something that needed to go. Nothing else exciting about this item can be said.
Item 5: Autobiography of Richard Avedon sold for $65.00
This item was very hard to let go, but I knew it would draw some money. This is a massive book of all the photos of Richard Avedon who is my favorite photographer of all time. I fell in love with his work while in high school in photography class with Mrs. Clarke(see my Teachers Save Lives video no YouTube) I bought this book in college to remind myself of how I found myself in her classroom. I bought it at Borders my freshman year. Rarely did I open the book up to look at it which is why I sold it, but it was one of those items that reminded me that I had made a change in my life and started a new path. It was a pivotal moment for me for many reasons and this book reminded me that I made it out alive. I have a bit of regret selling this book, but I know I can always find new ways to remind myself of these days.
Item 6: Earpeace hearing protection plugs sold for $8.57
These were another brand new item that came in a quarterly package that I knew I would never use so I sold them. The great thing is that I sold enough items from Quarterly packages where I made my money back to get the next box. Yes, I should cancel, but I just love the mystery of what will arrive. I told myself one more box and than I have to stop as part of my decluttering experience.
Item 7: Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C 30 pack sold for $24.50
This is something that I wanted to keep for myself to help with my health and detox, but I know myself and know that I would get like 3 days in and not use anymore and I would be left with a half consumed package in which you can do nothing with it. I sold it and made my money back. These are the types of purchases I make that are dumb. With recording my purchases on a budge and documenting this journey it is helping me realize that I need to make some changes. I am in the shock phase, but will eventually start to make the changes necessary.
