Once, a very long time ago I read a line in a book that has stuck with me.

Ah we are opposites! I’m born and raised in Boston but I haaaate it. I hate the gross summers, the college kids, the WICKED PISSA sports culture, the casual racism (it’s everywhere, sure, but it’s more prevalent than some would suspect for a “progressive” city). To me Boston is crazy expensive for little payoff. At least in SF (my one true love) the weather is fantastic all of the time (and the food, and the parks, and the museums, etc. etc.) But I’ll never be able to afford the Bay Area so I visit every few years. Anyone in SF want to trade lives and live in Boston instead?
