We’ve recently released two new features to make managing your account credentials easier.

As a security best practice every Coinbase Commerce account has two-factor authentication enabled by default. This helps prevent unauthorized access so that even if your password were compromised an attacker could not access your account. Our new features make managing your credentials much simpler.

Changing password

In the event you need to change your password, you can now do that quickly and easily within Settings.

Changing two-factor authentication devices

We’ve also made it easy to change two-factor authentication devices in case you need to switch to a new phone.

What’s next? Backup codes!

It’s important that you can still gain access to your account even if you lose access to your two-factor authentication device. Soon you’ll be able to generate backup codes in case you lose your phone.

Coinbase Merchant Tools Update

Earlier this year we announced the launch of Coinbase Commerce as well as the upcoming deprecation of Merchant Tools. At the end of this month, merchants will no longer be able to use the legacy Coinbase Merchant Tools product. After May 31st, Merchant Tools customers will still have access to their Coinbase account but will not have access to Merchant Tools.

Conclusion

We’re making cryptocurrencies the best way to pay and are continually improving the product based on your feedback. If you’re passionate about making cryptocurrencies succeed as currencies and are as excited about the future as we are, we’re hiring!
