Hundreds of people attend funeral of homeless Vet

In Kansas city Missouri a veteran who received a purple heart during his time of service, passed away. Eton Gilmore spent most of his time living in abandoned buildings with no electricity. He passed away with no home or close family. After weeks of no one coming to claim the body, the Department of Veteran affairs helped arrange a funeral. After news broke of the upcoming service, over 200 people attended the service.

Colorado school district banned Peyton Manning jersey

Days before the Super Bowl a Colorado school district, just miles from Mile High stadium, banned students from wearing Peyton Mannings number 18 Jersey. The principal stated that the number 18 was used as a gang reference and any apparel with the number 18 on it was banned. Many other jersey numbers were banned as well. One that was not banned was Cam Newtons number one jersey.

A NYC police officer Convicted of Manslaughter

Peter Liang was convicted Thursday of manslaughter after a 17 hour jury deliberation. Liang was a rookie officer in 2014 when he was patrolling. He had his gun drawn when a noise startled him. The gun fired killing Akai Gurley. Many believe Liang is being made into a scapegoat due to the growing tensions regarding police accountability.
