Stadia — Google’s Big Play is Bigger Than Gaming

Most of the talk around Google’s big announcement is about how Stadia could disrupt the gaming industry. But I believe this is about more than gaming for Google. For a company as big and powerful as Google many of their tech advancements from one field, cross over to benefit others.

I want to avoid talking about the details of how much this will cost, or even the practicalities of if Google can pull this off. I’ll leave that to more technically experienced people than I. I want to focus on where this could lead for Google, and the potentially immense impact it could have on a wide range of industries, from computers, to phones, to AR glasses, to VR or really any IOT object you could possibly think of.

For the purposes of this article, let’s give Google some credit and say they are going to pull this off perfectly and its going to destroy gaming as we know it. But what happens after that?
