Chillout Heaven — Airbnb Places I Stayed

Of all the airbnb places I stayed, this one is a chillout heaven.
House itself resides on top of mountain in Topanga, LA, when we were looking at the gorgeous portfolio photos with breath-taking view, we didn’t take into mind how hard it’s gonna be driving up there. Single lane all the way to hill top, road is super windy, mirror is placed in every corner and you have to stop for car coming from other direction so they can pass. One Texas airbnb reviewer said that being from where everything is flat, driving is scary here, it is.
The two story house hides behind the low hanging tree and a steep pathway.

Open the door, first thing you notice is an open wild view of surrounding mountains far away, yet so close that you could frame them into your window. Outside, a perfect patio catches all the sereneness and opens an invitation to cool and quite summer night. Grab a book to read in the hammock, breath flowing open air and enjoy the endless view, as simple as just being in the house, that relaxed every one of us already.
Something I felt very differently about being in the house, is the fact that it was beautifully made, full of passion, function of each space is well considered and taken care of, upon it a lot of details are added to the home, giving you the wow moments. There is an outdoor fireplace attached to the kitchen, we didn’t know until we opened the little iron made fireplace peep hole, these details wow-ed us and made us laugh, as it’s rare to see these things in contemporary houses. All the wall corners in the house are made as rounded but not sharp. Ceramic tiles of same bright color are used in both kitchen and outdoor stairs. Refrigerator exterior is made of wood instead of stainless steel, perfectly blending into the wood color of kitchen room. Tiny toilets room in the living room has a skylight window so it still has natural light without lightbulb. I’m sure if we stayed in house for a couple of more days we’ll notice more details as such. It’s caring, and this level of caring made me wonder how the house was built originally as a start of someone’s dream.

The downstair first story has a long porch and enjoys the open view as well, current owner decorate the porch with beautiful succulent plants and made under-stair room a game and movie room, a wall of toy-guns, projector with giant puffy bean sofas, even better there is a drum set, pitch perfect. The house takes care of its inhabitants, and the people living in it made the house fun. We re-watched Mad Max Fury Road here, pitch perfect.
Master bathroom is one of my favorite, claw-foot bath with old telephone style shower nozzle, pure white color interior with a touch of greenness from outside mountains, matched every inch of my dream.

I traveled and stayed here with a group of friends, what’s interesting is, each one of us has felt the house is dream like and we would decorate our own home like this. It’s stunning by itself, yet it’s welcoming and inviting. The house was built not to enjoy the sereneness by yourself alone but with your best friends, family together, the affection it was built with, with two generations passed by, can still touch us. Now you see how an “ordinary” daily living home, is still able to turn itself into a chill-out heaven.
