Stuck on a feeling

Seeing a haircut brought my attention to someone I thought I knew. I felt eyes sink backward and my throat tighten. This gave rise to images, smells, and sounds. I became drunk off a feeling. My eyes closed and I was swept away by this presence I felt. The very thought of seeing Paul made me anxious. I then opened my eyes excitedly to see a man I’ve never seen before turn around to look at me. I froze. My face began to look unwell. All the right words that I knew I wanted to say came to mind, yet none seemed to enter the world.
