Hi Keith. I think a connection to something larger than yourself is important, especially as a man. We humans seem to need to worship something be it money, power, looks, sex or strength. As several people have said over time, the problem with worshipping any of these is that they’ll eventually tear you apart. The only thing that has consistently shown to allow people to thrive over long periods of time is a connection to something they feel is more important and larger than themselves. Prayer and/or meditation allows one (man or woman) to spend a few moments deepening that connection to that larger purpose be it God (my preference) or Allah or Buddha or Mother Wiccan. It also allows you time to order your thoughts, calm yourself, practice humility, and reach out for help. To me, all of these aspects are important for young men to learn and practice as they grow into men.
