This is an important source for my documentary because it provides a precise articulation of the topic of my documentary(The 3 Wise Words Project) from the creator himself, Tommy Keough. In this selection from his website Keough provides a description of project, including the type of campaign it is, practically what he is trying to discover, and how he ties it all together. This source will help me in maintaining a clear understanding of what my documentary is illuminating. I consider this source to be the vision of The 3 Wise Words, thus I can refer back to it, to ensure that I do not drift from the vision of his project.

In this NPR article, Kamenetz investigates the power of commencement addresses. She states that commencement addresses are “simple, emotional, and pack a universal message into just a few words”. This article lines up with the method of The 3 Wise Words Project, it is incredible simple that is packed with emotion and inspiration. This article is complimentary to my documentary because it illuminates the power of simplicity and the power that words can have on the individuals that speak or recieve them .

This short video has an inspirational foundation and prompts the audience to respond after the video has been viewed. This is important considering the content of my documentary will be inspirational in nature and will end the video by challenging the audience to engage in The 3 Wise Words Challenge. Thus, I can learn from this video of how the creator takes the audience on a journey of explaining the concept of the jelly bean to then prompting the audience to respond. I can take certain components of the video implement them into my documentary.

This source provides a depiction of the creator The 3 Wise Words Project. This is a section pulled from his own personal website in which he describes himself and what he loves to do. This source is important for my documentary because it personifies the person behind the campaign and the artwork. By better understanding Tommy and what he appreciates I can better understand his campaign and its effect on the people who engage with 3 Wise Words.

This article speaks to the power of words by illuminating Nelson Mandela and how his time in prison showed him that Words carry tremendous power and must be respected. This captivating story runs in conjunction with the theme that I want to depict in my documentary: Our Words matter. Specifically the 3 words that we consider to be the best advice we can give. This source provides credibility and an example of the power of words and the effects that they can have on others.
