You Need More Love Right Now, Not Less.

When we complete everything on our to-do lists, we feel good about ourselves — and we should! We set a goal and we met it. We have every reason to be proud.

But what happens when we don’t get everything done? What happens when we get nothing done?

How do you talk to yourself when you’re just trying to keep your head above water?

What about when you don’t stick your diet or skip the gym repeatedly? And when you wake up the next morning hungover from what was supposed to only be two drinks?

A lot of us confuse self-discipline with disciplining ourselves. And we’re tough disciplinarians! We yell at ourselves, we punish ourselves, we call ourselves “a mess” or “hopeless.”

It’s exactly what we don’t need in that moment. If you really want to develop a healthy self-discipline — as well as an even healthier sense of forgiveness — you need more love, not less.
