The tension in the air grew higher.
“What’s wrong?” you said, so I explained.
And I waited.
I waited for the swift embrace, your arms around me, hearing your heartbeat as you pulled me against your chest and told me it was okay to be broken sometimes.
But you turned your back to me and faced the wall, creating miles between our bodies.
And that was when I knew.
