A great perspective on building your analytics function through different stages of growth.

For companies with heavy product usage (lots of time spent in your app, by lots of users, everyday) — I believe you’ll encounter the need for an analyst earlier than suggested. We certainly did at Front.

For companies with more transactional analytics needs (Ecommerce, for example): I think this timeline is spot on, as is the practical approach. The tradeoffs between analytical depth, time, and resources for growing startups are significant and captured well here.
