Good article. Didn’t even know about cec-utils. I would very much like to see options on Screenly Pro for turning off monitor, leaving it up to the user to test their display. I’ve tested the vcgencmd option on my Optoma projector and it works fine (Epsons also). I hate to install a separate digital timer for which there is no remote control. Unfortunately many displays and low-end projectors like the Optoma don’t have built-in timers.
