The Inefficiency of Words.
Robert Cormack

Sounds like semantic satiation to me. Words lose their meaning through overuse, and as a writer, I am so full of questions. How do we revitalise a spent language? Broaden our vocabularies? Experiment? Preserve our integrity? Be brave enough to challenge readers? Where do we go from here? What do we have to face? Well, maybe I can answer that last one.

We need to resist rhetoricians spewing “very-big-very-fake-alternative-facts,” over and over, again and again (again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again).

To them I say, “Not today.” Thank the stars for posts like these. Someone needs to cut through the bluster, we need flag bearers for quality words.
