A Party based on Digital Vote

Just finished reading the latest post of Peter Diamandis at Singularity University, a very good article named: “Can We Meaningfully Improve Government With Experimentation?”

I believe we can. In fact, we are.

Here in Uruguay we are running a small experiment, called “El Partido Digital”. A Party which will allow every citizen to vote on any law, in which it’s representatives will only follow what the majority decides.

We are building on the shoulders of giants who have paved the way, like The Net Party in Argentina.

And even though there are a lot of challenges, we believe it’s worth trying this experiment , because we are hoping we will learn a lot from this.

Uruguay is the perfect place to do it, and there are several reasons for this:
1) Small country: Check
2) Open Data and Open Government preparedness: Check
3) High Internet speed, usage and access: Check, Check

Peter has asked everyone in the world to bold. And I believe he is right, we need bold ideas.

This is us, in a small country, being bold in politics.

Help us spread the message.
