A Doodle A Day #18

I have no idea how the creative process works ...nor do I really understand my own. Even so, I’m going to share a bit on what sometimes happens sometimes with the creation of this tangly art.

This morning I had a few time-sensitive things to accomplish before I could get to the doodle and the blog, and I was behind my own personal goal of having it posted daily by 10:30 a.m.

I was cruising along with other tasks, when Eureka! A giant exclamation point flashed in my mind as today’s doodle. (I only wish it was like that everyday). I was like, “okay, yes, very cool…that’s what’s happening next” and continued on with my other work.

When I had the opportunity to sit down and draw, I was excited because the “what” had already presented itself in a Eureka! moment! Even as I drew and doodled, I wasn’t giving much thought to why I had drawn an exclamation point. It was only when I sat down to write that I considered the message here.

From my perspective, I’m seeing it as a sign which says: “Hello! It can be that easy!” I’m all about the flow, but as anyone on the planet knows, sometimes the flow is happening and sometimes it is not. But that big explanation point clearly said to me today, “Hey, don’t sweat it. Everything shows up when you need it to. Just be cool.” Which is an awesome message.

So, that’s my story of the art that tells me a story. Try it yourself. Doodling is not just fun, it’s good for you and you never know what story may appear. ☺

One last thing, the doodles are now on pillows, tee-shirts, mugs, clocks and more and there’s free worldwide shipping until Sunday, April 12, 2015.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
