Logical-Mathematic Intelligence in AI

Artificial Intelligence is the development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages. Artificial Intelligence is becoming smarter every day, with some AI being able to learn from mistakes. Some Artificial Intelligence is being programmed to complete a set that would normally be a risk to a human. In order to do this AI must complete a set of instructions, usually consisting of using tools, walking on rough surfaces and recognise the difference of an object to a life form.

I believe that in order for AI to do this, they must have ‘Logical-Mathematical Intelligence’. Logical-Mathematical Intelligence is the ability to calculate, quantify, consider propositions and hypotheses, and carry out complete mathematical operations. This would be extremely useful to have in AI as it would complete the task in the most logical way. An example of this would be in a situation of two people stuck in a building that is burning down, the AI would save the person with the most likely chance of surviving, and go back for the other if there was time. This would massively increase the chance of surviving as the robot doesnt have to take a while to think about who to save, decreasing the time and giving the other person a good chance of surviving. AI like this could be used in a bomb threat situation, clearing out people in a burning house and even could be used in a similar situation to the Japan Meltdown. The Japan Meltdown (Fukushima Accident) accured when a serious of natural disasters caused a nuclear power plant to meltdown, where radiation was spread across a long distance, making it extremely dangerous as someone within distance of the nuclear power plant would have gotten radiation poisening. In this situation, AI could have been used to enter, and put the plant’s core back to a stable state. But at this time AI wasn’t as developed as now.
