Gone Fishin’
This project was actually one of my favorite because the theme was something I love to do. You may be able to guess by the title but this project was creating a website through both a desktop view and a mobile view.
Mine was all about fly fishing and all the essential gear and placed to go. I had a friend that like to fly fish as well let me use his photos so that I didn’t have to create too much of my own content image-wise.
When starting this project I researched as many fly fishing websites as I could and tried to incorporate all of the things I liked about each one and combine them into one. The process has started to become the same as far as creating a guide that will help the website stay consistent with color, images, look, and feel. It also need to be consistent from the two differing mediums, both desktop and mobile. From beginning to end the website changed it’s look and even colors. We also had to create a animation that was consistent with the website so I went ahead and created one in Adobe flash. It is activated as soon as a user enters the website. Click the last link below to view the animation.
Thanks to needed critiquing I was able to create and clean, usable website. And was also given pointers on how to keep the same feel from desktop to mobile aside from the varying screen space. I feel that I captured the feel and the mood of fly fishing and am very happy they way it came out through both mediums.
