Some key elements of Paracosm Platform

Paracosm Platform contains key elements which define its inner workings. Services on top of the platform (e.g. Caer Sidi) extend its capabilities but this usually requires to put extra trust into the service and its operator.

Some of these elements are:

Paracosm Key — a record in the Tangle containing the identificator of a being who uses Paracosm Platform. (Word “being” replaced “person” some time ago when we decided that the artificial intelligence ought to have the right to use Paracosm Platform on par with the humans.) It’s possible to have access to the platform and the services without a key but the abilities will be limited in such case. For example, a being without a key won’t be able to use a unique name in the games, couldn’t be a Paracosm Master, couldn’t receive assets from the beings with keys. A key is an anti-Sybil measure because for the activation of a key its owner must pass a KYC-procedure to ensure that this being hasn’t activated another key in the past.

Sacra — digital energy which is burned to do operations on Paracosm Platform. Sacra is not money, it can be created by the Paracosm Platform Administrator in any amounts. The only way to send sacra from one being to another is to send the whole “balance”, this possibility was added to support mechanisms like legal succession.

Nihilator — something that will be revealed later.

It should be noted that people often conflate the platform and its services. This is because the end-users interact with services/products, not with Paracosm Platform directly. Tangible Paracosm Keys is one of such things, they are products of Caer Sidi which provides access to the corresponding Paracosm Keys.
