The IUC and the last class of 2015
By Alagie Jinkang

The International University College of Torin(IUC), marks a great day today.
The IUC gave her last lesson for the academic year 2014/15. The lesson that marks the end of the classroom sessions gave an opener yet to another beginning.
The 22 LLM students who came from all around the world has been together for 7 months. But today’s class brought with itself a fear. The students from whose eyes were flattering and sharing everything common brought a fear to end this.
In Rafael’s ever welcoming eyes today signal the contrary. The fear to say a goodbye to me. He asked me, “did you know that today is the last day of our lessons in IUC?” I answered no by saying it is suppose to be on Friday. The Brazilian told me that Friday was also another meeting to give a formal farewell. This to the ever standing big ears of the African man was unpleasant to hear. To him the IUC is his home and his classmates soulmates and a second family. He said to Rafael, his Brazil friend, how do we meet next? The guys who have shared many projects together are find of each other and leaving not clear if they will come together again is worrying and sad. Rafael has invited Alagie his African brother to Brazil for a carnival but the fear of documentation seems to ruin their relationship after IUC.
“Come and teach in my university,” Isaack Nyombi fears not loosing the great company of his fellow African brother. The Tanzanian brother who is leaving soon wears a dull face when speaking about the end of the academic year. What do you think about the IUC asked Isaack to Alagie? In response, is one of the greatest institutions I will dream to learn in. It is very good, democratic and encompassing after all, is one family. I have lost all my friends and was without hope of getting others but when I came to the IUC, I found a family. The global family is real life. At least I now have a friend and a family all around the world. If I have the chance someday, I will visit Will Wang Wing my Chinese brother lamenting Alagie.
“Time is fast. Life is short. Sometimes back in January we never think it will come to pass this way. I enjoyed my time in the IUC, it was tough within a short time but worth it”, Zeleke has little to say.
“My brother, (Alagie speaking to Zeleke) I love the IUC and will want to be with the same family more than this short time. There are great professors supplemented by brave and brilliant students. I love the seminars and class sessions with open debates. It gives me chance to express myself. The best part of my life cannot be separated from the IUC. It has rehabilitated me and continues to give me a wider sense of life.”
Coming from different parts of the world was never an easy adaptation process. But for the IUC students it was possible without much problems. Traditions and cultures never distracted them from each other. There sense of humor could be seen in their self organizations of projects and programs. They get together easily and party around in the flamboyant city of Torino.
The LLM of the IUC is one in a million where philanthropism is shown to all students without discrimination.
The school that recognized itself as the commons, made life even more simple and fascinating for her students.
It is not uncommon seeing its students eating, smoking and sleeping in the third-floor which serves as the students floor. Well furnitured and comfortable easily find many students hallucinating.
Urbano, Will and Alagie among others used the third-floor as their home. Almost all the students will miss the third floor but Alagie and Urbano promised not to do so. The floor that is open to all also does so by giving a key to each. You could come there and do want you want.
The library will never be forgotten. The IUC students conduct their research in this rich paradise whose doors are open to all her students. Victoria, Silvia, Alexandra and Zeleke are very leaving leaving the library. These colleagues are always in library studying and updating Facebook. Late night studies were also uncommon. Some others will spend their weekends there too. How many selves must have fallen on their heads and shoulders waits a medical verification.
Extra-curricular activities also energizes these students. Soccer was their favorite and they do play it, talk about it and spend on it. Many parks and playing field are not strange to them. All these were amicably done and facilitated mostly my Michael, Antonio, Urbano, Alagie, Janosch Cristina and others. They usually go to a bar after the encounters.
Whether these people or many of them will see each other after a memorable time like this is a concern but also a matter of wait-and-see.
