The High School Summit is an annual hybrid event that brings together high school students from around Africa, providing them with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration they need to become effective changemakers in their communities and beyond. Through interactive workshops, keynote speeches from inspiring thought leaders, and opportunities for networking and collaboration, the summit offers a unique and engaging space for young changemakers to connect, learn, and take action.

We are thrilled to announce this year’s esteemed guest speaker, Mrs. Angelou Ezeilo!
Founder of Greening Youth Foundation | Environmental and Equity Consultant at Engage, Connect, Protect LLC. | Vice President of Empathy and Childhood Strategy, Ashoka Africa
Angelou Ezeilo is an experienced leader and International Consultant with over 25 years of demonstrated history of working in corporate, environmental, sustainability and youth development fields. Ezeilo is skilled in Nonprofit Organization scaling,
Strategic Planning, CSR development, Diversity Equity and Inclusion principles, UN’s SDG alignment, Public Speaking and Public Policy. A strong multinational professional with cross-cultural communication skills.
Angelou received her Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of Florida and, bachelor’s in arts from Spelman College-both in the United States. Angelou has been recognized as one of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs as an Ashoka Fellow in 2016. She is the founder of an international nonprofit, Greening Youth Foundation (www.gyfoundation.org). Greening Youth Foundation’s (GYF) vision is to create a new workforce of environmental leaders while providing life changing opportunities in sustainability to underserved and diverse youth across the globe.
Since launching in 2007, GYF has reached over 25,000 youth and young adults directly and indirectly through various environmental education, conservation and renewable energy training programs. Through strategic partnerships and growth, the organization now services the United States and has established a Greening Youth Foundation Africa branch which currently serves West Africa. She is the author of the book, Engage, Connect, Protect: Empowering Diverse Youth as Environmental Leaders, released in November 2019. Ezeilo is a sought-after public speaker about youth, diversity and inclusion and climate change. Utilizing her legal and analytical skills, Angelou also consults for corporations that are fighting to remain relevant and compliant by incorporating: DEI principles, CSR plans, and/or SDG alignment into their core business strategies.
As the Vice President of Empathy and Childhood Strategy for Ashoka Africa, Angelou works with her teams in West Africa, East Africa, Sahel and Southern Africa to identify strategic partners, Co-leaders and young social entrepreneurs who are working on innovative solutions to Africa’s pressing environmental and social challenges.
