Did you miss out on these summer releases from Think Work?
Our ThinkWork team was busy over the summer producing excellent briefs, videos, and other great stuff. Did you miss any of it?
First off, we’re proud of this short video, The Truth Comes from Us, featuring self-advocates with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) talking about what they look for from their employment consultants.
Did that inspire you to learn more about how people with IDD navigate employment and engage in their communities? Here are some featured publications:
Our Community Life Engagement team examines how people with IDD participate in their communities outside of employment. Check out their Engage series: short engaging articles looking at why this topic is important, what kinds of supports and outcomes we’re seeing, and the four guideposts for success. (Scroll down the landing page to see the briefs.)
The Think Work team and our partners published a data brief looking at the status and outcomes of people with IDD working in integrated settings.
Do you know about our RRTC on Advancing Employment?
They published a new series of briefs called Bringing Employment First to Scale. Here’s one about employment consultants, who are on the front lines connecting people with IDD to fulfilling work.
And this brief looks into how community providers are making the transition from “sheltered workshops” and other segregated settings to integrated work.
Stay tuned for lots more pubs and videos from Think Work throughout the fall and beyond.
