Compressor Parts

After investing in buying a compressor, the most important part of running this machine is keeping it in a running condition. For this, regular maintenance is required, but the problem is that often no instruction manual says that the machine requires regular maintenance. Because of this reason, this part gets overlooked and therefore, proves costly for the user.

As far as the maintenance is concerned, there is no rocket science involved as such. Just with the points mentioned below, you can be assured about this machine going a long way with you. However, before, you start reading the points, the most important part of the overall maintenance schedule is to read instructions carefully and follow them with strictness. This lone step would ensure that your machine and its parts would stay in their best condition for a long, long time.

Draining the moisture out of the tank

The tanks, as they continue to accumulate air, they have to accumulate some moisture too, although involuntarily. This moisture content could be high, if you are living in humid regions. The biggest favor that you can do to your compressor parts is removing this moisture after every use. The valve is already present there to get rid of this moisture and it’s up to you to remember draining it. Doing this will ensure that the tank stays dry and rust-free.

Cleaning the air filter

Air filter happens to be one of the most important compressor parts as it purifies the air before it reaches the internal mechanism of the machine. Dirty or choked filter means the machine using the same power, yet generating just half or it’s potential. Therefore, it should be ensured that this part is cleaned after every use. Moreover, before every use, you need to check its condition and if found dirty, should be cleaned urgently. It should be done without fail because filter failure can result into expensive repairing.

Tightening all the fasteners

As this machine moves, it vibrates as well and in the process, its fasteners continue to get loose and this is another negative factor. You need to ensure that the fasteners, nuts and bolts are tightened as you stop working on the machine. Similarly, prior to start using, an overview of these fasteners, nuts and bolts should be taken to ensure that they are all tight and ready to work.

Testing of safety valve

A very important step to be taken to ensure long life of compressor parts is checking the safety valve. The role of this valve is to get opened, if PSI is on higher side. Checking its status frequently would ensure that that you experience no air receiver related accidents or mishaps.

Cleaning the fuel tank on a frequent basis is also a great support that you give your machine to help it perform like new every time. This would ensure that any residual build up prevailing there is removed as it helps in increasing the life of your machine.

Apart from these, you should also –

• Check Hoses Regularly
• Check and Change the Oil
• Clean the Inter-cooler Fins and Tubes
