Survival Story of Aron Ralston

Aron Ralston is an American adventurer, engineer, and motivational speaker. He was born on October 27, 1975, in Marion, Ohio, and grew up in Denver, Colorado.

Ralston developed a passion for the outdoors at a young age, and he began exploring the mountains of Colorado and Utah. In 2003, while hiking alone in a remote canyon in Utah, Ralston was trapped when a boulder fell and pinned his arm against the canyon wall.

For six days, Ralston tried to free himself but was unsuccessful. With limited food and water, he eventually made the decision to amputate his own arm using a dull knife. After freeing himself, he rappelled down a 65-foot wall and hiked out of the canyon before being rescued by a helicopter.

Ralston’s incredible story of survival gained national attention and was later adapted into a Hollywood movie, “127 Hours,” starring James Franco as Ralston. Following his experience, Ralston has become a motivational speaker, sharing his story of resilience and determination with audiences around the world.

In addition to his outdoor adventures, Ralston is also an accomplished engineer, having received a degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He has worked as an engineer for several companies, including Intel, and has also served as a wilderness guide and ski patroller.
