Get Ready For The Greatest Fights In The Universe

Dragon Ball Super has become a massive commercial success since it first premiered back in July of 2015. Since it’s airing, it has managed to rack up views that surpass the likes of One Piece, currently the most popular anime on the market. Since the ending of Dragon Ball Super, the premiere of the Broly movie and the manga moving on to new story material that could suggest that Dragon Ball Super is returning once more to grace our late night Saturday night and Sunday mornings. With the seeming return of the anime, what else could we expect from Dragon Ball Super?

At the time of this writing, it’s still a month or so off from the English premier of the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film. After hearing reviews and the talks surrounding of the film and unfortunately some spoilers, the film is shaping to be an extremely exciting entry in the Dragon Ball movie line up. Knowing everything I know of the film’s plot, this has to be one of the most anticipated Dragon Ball film releases of all time.

However, does the film provide hints in regards to what to expect for more story material after the film’s release? It’s very much possible. The ending of the film could hint a possible teaser of what could come afterwards. It could even state that Dragon Ball Super is coming back soon to get the fans excited fr the return of the anime. Back in January 2018, they stated that they were moving all their resources to the film in order to make it as fantastic as possible, but Toryama had stated that he had plans for a continued story and that the ending of Super would not be the end of the series as we know it. Indeed, The author of Dragon Ball has stated that he has plans for a continued story in regards to what happens after Tournament Of Power arc. With regards to how much material we would be getting is unclear at the moment. However, with the success and the foreshadowing the show provides to the future of the storyline, I would not be surprised if get more long after the release of the film.

The manga also continues with the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc, in which Goku and Vegeta has to assist the Galactic Patrolmen with securing a dangerous prisoner that was freed from their grasps not too long ago. Beforehand, the anime and the manga ran simultaneously together, albeit the manga was behind due to that chapters being released monthly and the anime coming out almost every week. Despite this, the manga has been given a chance to catch up due to the absence of the anime, allowing the manga to again be ahead of the anime and give us glimpses of what to expect for the new arc. Toyotaro had stated that the manga will one day surpass the anime and be further ahead than the anime. During this statement, the Universe 6 Tournament was ending and the Future Trunks Saga was beginning, making it unlikely at the time that the manga will catch up due to the monthly installments. Now, this is what the author was referring to when he made the statement.

With the manga continuing the story and the anime surely to follow suit, where else could the story go next in terms of future storylines and characters? Well Super had riddled the story with many interesting clues in what we could expect. We could more powerful villains to appear in each arc, as Siren can not be the de facto strongest villain in the series, certainly in a series with multiple universes, there are a plethora of other warriors more powerful than Jiren himself. Indeed, going back to Jiren’s backstory, the villain is still at large and alive as far we the we know. Certainly, a storyline featuring Goku and Jiren teaming up together to defeat Jiren’s biggest obstacle would be something fans would definitely tune in for. Vegeta also has to meet the Universe 6 Sayian King that he was promised by Cabba. There are also the other universes that did not appear in the Tournament Of Power, how strong are there fighters? Stronger than Jiren and Goku? Stronger than a God Of Destruction? What about the other universes that were previously erased, will they return and contain strong warriors? The series continues to be ripe with more stories to be told, the writers just need to harness it and tap into those unexplored areas to get satiate the thirst that Dragon Ball fans have for the series. By tapping into, they can tap into the longevity of the series.

With the series continuing, it could also bring problems with it as well. With another heavy load of the Dragon Ball Super anime returning, the staff of Toei Animation will be strained on working on many projects such as One Piece and Dragon Ball Super combined. Coupled with the fact that another One Piece is coming in 2019 and that they will sure attempt to pump out another Dragon Ball movie down the line, Toei is in for the time for their life as they attempt to do the best they can to deliver the best quality product they can for fans to enjoy.

Dragon Ball Super is in the best shape to return and give fans more Dragon Ball contents who continuously drool for new content. With the movie set to premiere soon, the manga debuting a new arc and the anime rumored and expected to follow soon after, the writers should have a list of what to throw at the fans next for the Dragon Ball fandom.
