I own a small (20 person) venture studio in KC called Crema. Married with 3 girsl, 5, 7, 9. I probably fit in that 55–60 hours range, but not all the time. I’m home to have dinner pretty much every night unless there is an event or I’m traveling. Hiring people I trust has been HUGE! Also setting realistic expectations for our team and our clients is a must. We expect 35(ish) billable hours a week. Or at least its how we plan. We don’t bill by the hour.

Some weeks are busier than others, but burning people out has never been the effective way to grow a company people love to work for and work with!
