When I say to you win big, what do you think? Most people would think of things like getting their dream job or simply getting a promotion. Or, winning the lottery or just getting a pay rise. What I’m saying is winning big is different for all of us but nonetheless, we are still love it and want to do it. But how?

Start with the small wins

Winning big isn’t always about the big stuff. You start by winning small. Get those everyday wins before you can move onto the yearly wins and then possibly the one in a lifetime wins. But at first, it all comes down to winning daily. The small wins make the win.

An example

Let’s look at an analogy. Sport is a good example, every day the players go to training and push themselves for something new. These are their small wins, the ones they aren’t going to be remembered for. But then they win a league game, this is their weekly win. At this level, people still don’t really remember them for it.

Next, we get something like the playoffs. Most teams have got to the playoffs at some point in their history. And winning the first few rounds is something many teams have done and some people will remember you for it. This is like the monthly or even yearly wins.

But then, the chance. The chance of a lifetime comes around for the taking. Whether it be the Superbowl, the NBA Finals, the Champions League final or the World Cup final. These are the chances that everyone wants in their life. Everyone wants to win these games. You win this, that is it. You’ve done it, you’ll go down in the history books of your team and the nation. This is the once in a lifetime win.

The method

Winning big doesn’t happen out of the blue. It doesn’t happen just because you hope for it or because you think you want it. Winning big happens because every day you are out there trying your hardest to win the small stuff.

It doesn’t have to be sports. If you want to be a writer like me. Then writing every day is your small win. For example, my 31-day writing challenge on Medium I’m currently completing. This small challenge ensures that I am winning small every day to help me train for that next step.

So, tell me what is yours daily wins goal? And, what is your once in a lifetime goal?
