The end of a journey
Well, here it is 31 days on from the start of my 31-day writing challenge on medium. It’s been an interesting experience, to say the least. So to round it all off, I’m going to use my last article in the challenge to recap the previous 30 days and what I thought of it.

Stats
If I’m being honest the changes I saw in the statistics on both my profile and individual articles wasn't as great as I thought they would be.
Here are some images of what I am on about:

There could be many for reasons for why these numbers are so low.
- I didn’t have a large number audience, to begin with so growing a new one could take longer than 30 days to do.
- The content that I was producing wasn’t drawing in an audience and/or wasn’t relevant to them.
- I wasn’t sharing the articles at all on social media outside of the general twitter function inside of Medium.
My feelings on the challenge
I went through the normal human thoughts when completing a challenge which requires some form of determination, consistency and regularity. Multiple times I debated if the challenge would be worth it.
But for personal bragging rights, I soldiered on and now I can finally say that I have completed this challenge and I can start on the next one.
It was hard but worth it. Throughout this journey, I have fallen in love with writing and sharing my work with the world. Without this challenge, I wouldn’t have developed my passion for writing.
Falling in love wasn’t the only thing that happened, I’ve learnt a lot about both the writing community and the medium community. Both of which are awesome!
Next steps
I’m going to carry on writing for medium and I’m actually going to go one further and begin my own publication. Alongside my new publication, I’m going to begin cross-posting to my blog which will serve as a second home for my medium publication.
I’m going to read more articles and interact with the community more. This is one of the main reasons I can think of that prohibited larger success from this challenge.
