Greetings, friend! In this short article I would like to tell you about how easy it is to acquire your first Ethereum on your own wallet. We will be discussing the Rinkeby testing network. Magic can be done in a matter of minutes. This gives a handful of advantages to both beginner blockchain developers and other cryptoworld enthusiasts.

First of all, we need to create an account in the wallet that supports the Rinkeby system. I will be using Conicoin – Rinkeby Testnet.

After the launch tap the “Create new wallet” button. You will be asked to create a 6-digit pincode. You pin code is an additional security layer for your account. The wallet will request your pin code each time before a significant event, such as transaction confirmation, key export or account unlocking (similar to Apple gadgets passcode).

Congratulations! You will now see a recovery phrase which will appear on the screen (mnemonic) notifying of the successful creation of your wallet. I kindly ask you to pay your full attention to saving the provided sequence of 12 words. Even though it is a testnet, I would recommend that you get into the right habits straight away. Mind you, these 12 words are THE ONLY way to regain access to your funds later on. Keep them in some safe place, for example on a piece of paper somewhere under the pillow :)

You find yourself on the main screen now — the wallet. Here you can see a list of all of your funds. In order to receive money from cryptocurrency systems you need to share your wallet address with the sender. You can find it by tapping the “Receive” button and copying the address to the clipboard. https://faucet.rinkeby.io will be the sender.

For the purpose of defense from spam the developers have made the process of receiving funds a bit more complicated, but let me break it down for you. All we need to do is post the previously copied Ethereum address in one of the supported social networks (Google Plus, Twitter, Facebook), copy the link to this post and insert it into the input field on https://faucet.rinkeby.io and tap the “Give me Ether” button.

There you go, the chosen sum will appear on your balance in several minutes and you will be able to administer your new funds through the mobile wallet.
