One man’s hill is another man’s valley

It’s one thing to have a dream, a different thing altogether to realize it can be more. However for most, this as far as it goes, especially when faced with the enormous effort it takes to make the intangible tangible — without their subconscious doctoring up events.

Not so with ConnectJob’s co-founder and CTO, Jonathan Gueron.

“The [dream] was pretty clear to me” he said, fiddling with his favourite office decoration — a Twilight Zone arcade machine, “reinvent the labour market”

Unrealized Potentials

The advent resource sharing and skill exchange platforms through the internet has ushered in a new era for independent employment. These platforms have enabled people from all over the globe to get and provide services from the comfort of their online devices. This new-found ease and accessibility is now the impetus behind a $900 billion industry that is challenging traditional labor structures and models.

“However, despite the ease and accessibility these devices provides” Jonathan continued, turning his attention to the neat stacks of mining rigs adorning the walls , “this system has its own flaws that stops it from realizing its potentials”

Solving problems comes naturally to Jonathan Gueron — and most times it starts with right here in the semi-basement of his beach house. It was in here that he brainstormed the co-founding of iAdvize; a success story that raised about 60 million dollars. And it was in this same room that he brainstormed the co-creation of the solution to the fragmented labor market.

“Independent workers accounts for 35% of the workforce in America. However, when you talk to them about the benefits of being their own boss, you start to hear a different story — delayed payments, defaulted contracts, unexplained charges, and a lack of transparency”

Reinventing The Labour Market

While the gig economy has enabled millions to freely work and engage services from anywhere in the world, the platforms facilitating these connections are highly centralized and often hostile. For Jonathan, addressing this issue is of the utmost importance in the first step towards liberating the labour market.

“With today’s technology we have the possibility to make our world a better place where citizens have control over their identity, their data, their money. Blockchain technology and smart contracts enable us to do just that. This is ConnectJob solution”

Everything Is Connect(Job)ed

Designed and developed on Ethereum blockchain, ConnectJob is a decentralized service engagement network offering a wide range of services on an all-in-one blockchain platform. The network uses a proprietary geolocational tool on mobile devices to directly connect professional and vetted jobbers to service seekers in their area. Each executed service is invoiced in the platform’s ConnectJob tokens (CJT) at a prefixed hourly rate, similar to Uber. However, unlike Uber and the rest, ConnectJob uses the blockchain to track and record all information, including jobbers reputation, thereby creating a trustless and auditable platform for all service engagement.

“In order to achieve our goal of a completely decentralized platform, we needed to establish an ecosystem around our token” Jonathan continued, settling into his seat, his eyes fixed on the framed portrait of a woman and her daughters beaming at the camera. His family. Jonathan is big on family. The whole of humanity is one big family where “Through people helping each other, the world will be a better place. As a universal project, ConnectJob isn’t looking to disrupt anything but rather to be the trigger in the gig-economy’s growth and evolution”

Not A Pie In The Sky

The next step for Jonathan was to get drum up community awareness and support for the platform and give them an opportunity to be a part of history through a token sale event.
