Keep your record straight

Martha Gellhorn was an American author, war correspondent and one of the greatest reporters of her generation. She reported from many front lines, including the Spanish Civil War, World War II and the Vietnam War.

I’m currently re-reading Gellhorn’s book, The Face of War (1959). The book starts with her thoughts on journalism when she hit the road. It was a way to change the world. Gellhorn explained how she was disappointed by the reality.

Her words are just as relevant to journalists now as they were in 1959. It is about keeping the record straight.
