Fuck You, I’m Not A Millennial

This… almost moved me emotionally. It was that good.

I do like transGenerational X for 1976–1979. They’re still people growing up with the internet (which is the strongest cultural shifter outside of World War 2 in the 20th Century). But they’re (you’re?) also Generation Y’s older siblings in a lot of ways. TransGen X ushered in Grunge rock more than there predecessors (the actual Gen X) did. Gen Y (from 1980–83 in particular) really just got a taste of it. The difference is the view on life that Grunge rock brought with it. Sure, other music movements that early to mid Gen X listened to (New Wave, early Rap…) were as strong in a lot of ways. But it was the coinciding of Pacific Northwest tech that really made Grunge more than just a trendy music genre. It became an ideal that could be plugged through a network and through media for decades to come. TransGen X is a pretty juicy subgeneration. Them combined with first half Gen Y (1980–84) are the best society has to offer right now and should be leading our country. … Except no one gives a shit about them and we’re just going to get passed right over.
