Use the Tiles Bag to Calculate Letter Probability and Score Big in Words with Friends

It doesn’t just tell you how many letters haven’t been played yet

No matter which version of Words with Friends you’re using on Android or iOS, you have access to built-in features such as Word Radars and Swap+ powerups. Die-hard word gamers consider these cheating tools — especially when they aren’t available to all players in a game. But there is one WWF feature everyone has access to that you can feel safe using against anyone.

The feature in question is called “Tile Bag,” and it has been a part of Words with Friends for as long as I can remember. This inbuilt tool lets you see precisely what tiles remain without revealing what letters your opponent has. If you’ve ever played Scrabble, you’d recognize this feature as the “Letter Distribution” list that appears on the game board itself.

When playing Scrabble, you can reference the list printed on the board to determine which letters your opponent may have and which ones you may be able to get.

That same concept applies in Words with Friends, only instead of referencing the board and your rack yourself to mentally calculate what’s left in the bag, the Tile Bag tells you. It…
