It’s not the cost here. We already moved to AWS Lambda / DynamoDB w/ API Gateway. All of our requests move through a proxy. Our costs with AWS are already in the $3,000 a month range and it’s acceptable since it is where 95% of our apps processing occurs. Firebase is just for the realtime part. The point here is unexpected costs that had zero warning and no documentation that stated anything about SSL, Keep-Alive, or TLS Tickets.

We wrote the implementation according to their documentation.
