Land Resources in Continuum World

Hi again, future Continuum citizens! It is time to talk about resources… those precious, little things. Biomes are packed with natural resources… and players can make the most out of them! But where… how… why…? Let’s see it! Yee-haw!

Resources are obtained from the natural world: trees, boulders, plants and a very long etcetera. But…! Not every resource exists in every biome; as we have already explained in a previous post, the type of biome, along with its rarity and richness level, affects the type and amount of resources. On top of that, it is said that rare hybridizations between different biomes are sometimes found… and we cannot forget about Wildlands: the most exclusive resources tend to appear there. In a few words… there is a ton to explore and discover when it comes to resources!

So… how can you gather them? UMis cannot gather every resource with their bare hands… that would be… kind of weird. Tools are used for that! As the player progresses in the game, new types of tools give access to more resources, and the gathering efficiency can be also boosted. There is some skill involved as well… The idea is to give players a wide variety of possibilities when it comes to gathering, leaving space for experimentation and improvement: get better, earn more… and do not get bored! Oh, I almost forgot! Some buildings also produce resources passively… those are an excellent way of farming!

And finally, what are these resources used for? Well… for many things we do not want to unveil yet… but for now let’s say mostly to construct buildings (only if you own a land, remember!) and craft items. These items restore or improve your UMi or Birdum in several ways… or even grant new abilities! Do not forget about the Global Market either! Players can buy and sell any type of resource or item there… meaning the more and the fastest you obtain them, the better!
