I have been programming database related stuff since 1984. But they have now decided that they can hire programmers cheaper in Bangalore. This is the second time in 7 years I have been laid off. Just hoping the job market is better now than it was in 2009 — that was a terrible time to be looking for a job — 500+ applicants for every opening.
