what sort of candidates we want more of in coming years

Since in many states Independents are not allowed to vote in primaries, we don’t have the ability to do the above and are usually stuck voting for the lesser of two evils that have been shoved down our throats by the two-party system. Neither party has put forth candidates I feel comfortable in voting ‘for’ in many years with minor lower-level exceptions. Neither party platform conforms to my idea of what this country could be. You explain to me how to get either party to put forward a candidate I can support and I will be happy to convert to a conscience voter.
