Bounty Round 2 Recap

The first two rounds of the HonestNFT Bounty Program were highly successful. To date, our GitHub has 29 PRs, 48 forks, and 105 stars. Today we’re excited to announce HonestNFT Bounty Round 3. Before we get into the details, we’d like to highlight some of the contributions from Round 2.

  1. A script that calculates the average rarity of tokens minted by each wallet during a given mint.
  2. A script to pull minting data from Moralis.
  3. GitHub maintenance (various PRs for clean up, refactoring, and safety).
  4. A website for visualizing rarity maps (WIP — with plans to create a “Wall of Shame”).
  5. A detailed proposal for repo standards (now implemented!).
  6. A bounty worthy meme (see below).

Winners: Barabazs.eth, FlyingFish, Silopete117, dale!dale!dale!

Our winners have written code that contributed to our latest audit, helped maintain our GitHub repo, and helped keep our community vibrant. We’re just getting started and we’re extremely excited to see what else our community contributes.

Bounty Round 3 Overview

We have earmarked at least 4 ETH from our bounty wallet for round 3 rewards (shoutout to Cookï3monster, who recently donated $300 to our bounty wallet).

If you are new to the HonestNFT ecosystem, you can get started by checking out our GitHub and joining our Discord. Our GitHub has a tutorial video and our Discord has a channel specifically for support.

All bounties are awarded at the discretion of the HonestNFT team.

Bounties

Most Round 3 bounties are technical, but there are still some non-technical bounties. See below for more details.

  1. Discretionary: Anything that supports the mission of HonestNFT! Ask us if you’re unsure about whether something is bounty eligible.
  2. Meme Contest: Post memes about NFT grifting or suspicious NFT activity. Submit via our #memes channel on Discord, or on Twitter (we will award memes on a rolling basis).
  3. HonestNFT Audits and/or Case Studies: Create HonestNFT audits like the ones we’ve recently published. Bonuses will be awarded for the first audit submitted and the best audit overall. We are particularly interested in audits for the following projects: CloneX, Crypto Coven, Uninterested Unicorns, and Psychedelics Anonymous but any collection is welcome. Our team can help finalize the audit if portions are missing.
  4. Data collection: Create a database with total gas usage, gas prices during mint, rarity charts, sales data, and minting data for a large amount of NFT collections. (A subset of this would also be bounty eligible; we are looking to crowdsource data that can later be used for audits)
  5. Analysis of Scam Contracts: Develop heuristics to retroactively identify fake NFT collections on OpenSea and other markets. We’re curious how many of these collections have been made, as well as how much money they may have grifted. A separate analysis could be carried out on collections that are posting copyrighted material without the creators’ consent.
  6. Numerology: We’re curious which token IDs are the most valuable. Collect price data for randomly distributed NFT collections and find which token IDs are the most valuable independent of rarity. (Stop by our Discord to discuss this in more detail!)
  7. Audit our Genesis NFT Launch: Soon we will announce more details about our upcoming NFT launch. If you find loopholes in our drop process or bugs in our smart contract, you will receive a bounty reward.

In order to prevent redundant work, please come to the #bounty-hunters channel in our Discord and let us know what collections you plan on auditing, and what kind of data you are collecting for crowdsourcing. Our team can help pair individuals interested in working together.

Submission

Submissions can be posted in the #bounty-hunters channel on our Discord.

We may also award bounties to people who tweet about NFT-related shenanigans and mention @honestNFT on Twitter.

Please get submissions in by March 7th, 2022 (12:00 AM UTC).
